Slap

Slap is the concept of a museum that showcases the works of emerging artists who explore gender identity through their art.
It provides a platform for various forms of art and expression that address the fragility of the soul, highlighting how at times it can be challenging to understand who we are, who we want to be, and how we want to be perceived.

The visual identity is inspired by a specific cultural context and its aesthetics: the '80s and '90s clubbing scene.
The explosion of club culture and the queer movement reawakens self-expression, exploration, freedom, music, and movement.

The term slap derives from Polari, a secret language used by the queer community in England in the early 1900s.
In Polari, slap means makeup, specifically referring to its smearing.

Images were manipulated using an old analog video mixer, then blended with a feedback loop.
The use of the mixer gives body and texture to the videos, evoking the aesthetics of the '80s/'90s.
For the visual identity, images and texts were used repeated in fast sequences, manipulated through filters and effects.
