Living Archive - CCL at RBO (WIP)
Living Archive explores how the movement of the body can become a way to access and activate an archive, transforming it into something living and dynamic.
Developed during a residency with CCL and the Royal Ballet & Opera, the project focuses on the RBO’s photographic archive of ballet performances, dancers and choreographies, bringing this historical material into a performative and interactive context.

An interactive installation was developed in which visitors activate a cloud of archival images through their presence, movement and poses. A pose-tracking system analyses the poses of dancers in the archival photographs and uses them as a database. The system then compares these historical poses with the visitor’s body in real time. When a similar pose is detected, corresponding archival images emerge, creating connections between the moving body and the photographic archive.
